Hey Party People!

its been a while I know!

New Year, new things in the pipeline... hold on to your hats folks.

The shop is now located in Pilton, the outskirts of Barnstaple, I figured this would be a good move, zero Business rates are very attractive, and lets face it who can afford the rates anyways! 'If you move it they will come', that was the idea in my head anyways!

Although off to a bit of a shaky start, I was still trying to recover from surgery at the time, the doors opened!

Word of mouth and regulars coming back to us has gained me some visibility, I thank you all for that.

WHATS NEW....

Tiny Tuck Shop... the young folk seem to like that alright, its literally pocket money sweets and drinks, which is a great way to cheer the kids up on their way home from school. We've had enquiries for work experience as well, so if your youngun wants to participate please have them go through the schools in the area.

BACK ROOM RENTAL space to hire out! its a fairly good sized room, we have tables and chairs included in the hire too and can offer chair tie backs to add a bit of shazam to whatever it is you want to hire it for. We had our very first Baby Shower event in there before Christmas, the space works well!

its good for a number of occations:

band practice

birthday parties ( up t0 40 guests)

rehearsal space for plays etc

clubs

choirs

creative space for sewing, art, crafting etc.

SO WHATS BEEN GOING ON!?

2024 Panto at the Queens Theatre I was asked to create the masks for The Beast in their panto Beauty and the Beast, which was a huge success! With the aid of a spare pair of hands (John Baldwin, Cracked Painter ) these were created and to the delight of Red Entertainment were used for the entire run!

In January 2024, We were asked to provide the Supporting Artists for and up and coming Feature film called Sweeney Todd Slice and Dice, and also to provide the entire wardrobe, good thing I have an amazing Victorian collection!

So at Alice , we held open auditions and was able to cast 50+ supporting roles, mostly local folk, and some from a little further away; including the lovely Cheryl Rowlands of Sarah Jane Mysteries fame.

The costumes worked out brilliantly again with the help of a few lovely people who came along to help alot, this monumental task was also a huge success for not only costuming the SA's but also the entire main cast. I cant give you release dates on that one yet but keep your eyes peeled!

Another discussion was had with the Director and pretty soon a bundle of costumes found its way winging towards a Scottish Castle for another Feature Film, yep youve guessed it, I cannot divulge the info...YET!

Then something amazing happened... I was asked to be the Producer and 1st Assistant Director for another Feature film. Now this is all pretty new to me, Ive never had that role before! and without hesitation I agreed. This tured out to be another great feather to the Alice hat. We arranged open auditions again for Supporting Artists, again very successful! I sourced and found every loctaion needed, including the fanstastic BroomHill Sculpure Garden and art Hotel, The Barnstaple Pannier Market, Grumpy's Cafe , Bridge Chambers and St Annes Chapel, what an overwhelming rally of support from our dear little town!

The film in question ' Dracula: Rise of the Vampire', which is now off in Los Angeles having its soundtrack added.

Now to me this is all nuts! I'm doing what I love doing and trying to bring as many of you all along for this rollercoaster ride. I'm currently dashing around like a crazy woman again accumulating a wardrobe for another Feature film this month, sadly not filming here. but in Essex.

Another one to come in March as Producer etc and hopefully another in June!
